Disabled refugees and asylum seekers originate from many different cultures and their reasons for disability may include injury during war, trauma, torture, malnutrition and disease. Due to their vulnerable situation in the UK, many asylum seekers living with disability may not disclose their disability for fear of this influencing their asylum claim. As with all asylum seekers, asylum seekers living with disability are entitled to free primary and secondary health care.
