The section sets out the responsibilities of local authorities towards people with disabilities, mental health or other health needs; applicable to asylum seekers. Legislation covers, for example, asylum seekers with physical impairments, hearing or visual impairments, learning impairments, mental health issues or chronic ill health. The service aims to provide members with cost effective national disability and impairment related reference information. It also aims to encourage and support good practice in disability information and advice services, and to provide non-members with general information and contact details of appropriate organisations or agencies.

RNIB. A guide to benefits and rights disability living allowance
Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB). No-one, including people registered as blind or partially sighted, has automatic entitlement to DLA. In order to receive benefit, you have to pass certain disability tests.
