Despite its focus on mental health training in the United States sections of this manual may assist those who are developing mental health training programmes for health professionals working with refugees. In particular, section one which examines the danger of making generalisations about the mental health needs of refugee groups and the concept papers relating to clinical training for refugee specific primary care may be of interest.

This assessment tool is aimed at practitioners and emergency relief workers in emergency situations.
