Mental Health Act managers - or hospital managers - are responsible for the proper implementation of all aspects of the Mental Health Act.

Sections 63, 132 and 133 of the Mental Health Act outline the duty of hospital managers to refer cases to tribunals, to give information to detained patients and to inform the nearest relatives of patient discharge.
