UNAIDS/ UNIFEM Gender, HIV and human rights: A training manual
HIV/AIDS requires a gender-specific response. The manual has been prepared in response to this need. It aims to help trainers enhance their understanding about the gender dimensions of HIV/AIDS, so that they can then effectively influence a critical mass of change makers in their "spheres of influence" to undertake appropriate responses to the challenges being posed by the epidemic.

Positively Women
The group aims to meet the needs of HIV positive women.They offer support for women living with HIV by women living with HIV. They formed a support group, which provided a safe space for women to talk openly about the challenges they faced. Today, the organisation remains strongly committed to the ethos of peer support and empowerment.

WHO: Pregnancy and HIV/AIDS
In this area, the focus has been on prevention of mother to child transmission (MTCT) of HIV infection. The World Health Organization (WHO) emphasizes that prevention of MTCT should be seen as one part of the comprehensive care of the HIV positive pregnant woman - i.e., a holistic and life span approach.

HIV and infant feeding: Guidance from the UK Chief Medical Officers' Expert Advisory Group on AIDS
Following a review of the research evidence, this updated guidance reaffirms the existing advice. Directed to health professionals who advise HIV-infected pregnant women and new mothers, it recommends avoidance of breastfeeding as part of a programme of interventions to reduce the risk of mother-to-child HIV transmission.
